"Building Value"
Maverick Real Estate Investment & Development (Maverick) is a single member limited liability company, owned and managed by Nicholas J. Lewis. Maverick is a real estate investment and development company with its principal offices based in Worcester, MA and a focus on investment in residential and commercial property throughout central MA. Maverick’s focus is on identifying Value-add opportunities in distressed properties in stabilized areas, or areas poised for development in the near future. The premise of our business is that, through skill, knowledge and hard work, “Value” is something that can be built, or created.

Maverick’s properties are located in Central MA, including the towns of Worcester and Sutton, and have included both single-family residential houses, as well as larger multi- family properties. We are also just entering the commercial and development markets with the future acquisition of a 7000 sf industrial property in Worcester’s Webster Square neighborhood that we will turn into Maverick’s new corporate offices and workshop, as well as develop additional commercial space to be leased out. 

 We look to both near-term and long-term methods for building value and generating income. Maverick relies on in-house knowledge and abilities, as well as the skill of it’s contractors and advisors, to orchestrate the acquisition, renovation, management and eventual sale of the properties we develop. 

Our Strategy
Our strategy for success relies on our ability to identify value in distressed properties in carefully selected areas in Worcester, as well as in it's surrounding towns. Our in-house knowledge of design, construction and development allow us to identify the most practical and value-oriented methods to restore property, and deliver both quality rental units to a wide range of residents, as well as desirable investment opportunities for buyers to the market. 


Leadership
Nicholas J. Lewis, President
Nicholas J. Lewis is a graduate from Wentworth Institute of Technology and holds Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering Technology, and a Master's degrees in Architectural Design, as well as a certificate in Real Estate Investment & Development from Salem State College. He has background in several fields relating to the built environment, including architecture, construction and real estate & is a licensed Construction Supervisor in the State of Massachusetts. After completing his studies at Wentworth, he transitioned into development, working for a large Boston based, vertically integrated real estate investment & development company, where he gained expertise in many facets of multi-family residential and commercial real estate.

Nick founded Maverick as Lewis Properties in late 2009 as an expansion of his professional portfolio. He began the company as a passive investment firm, concentrating on investment in real estate investment trusts, primarily as a way of gaining knowledge of the ebbs and flows of the real estate market. While still heavily focused on REIT investments, Lewis Properties is currently in the process of expanding to include residential and commercial acquisition and development, as well as raw land acquisition and telecom tower communication site leases.


When he is not working towards developing and growing his business, Nick enjoys being outdoors as much as possible, be it hiking, mountain biking, or swimming. He is an avid motorcycle rider and enjoys long rides through Central and Western Massachusetts. Nick is also an avid reader and enjoys books about real estate, investment, business and biographies. He also enjoys keeping up to date on up and coming technologies.
